Baptism

"Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit."  Matthew 28:19

At Powerhouse we practice Believer's Baptism, which means that we will baptize a person after they make a personal profession of faith in Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior.  Since a person can come to faith at any age along the journey, we have baptized young children as well as senior citizens!

What is Baptism?

Water baptism is an outward act that expresses an inward reality. Once a person puts their faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, he/she gets baptized in obedience to Christ's command.  In this act there is a personal identification with Jesus in His death (standing in the water ready to be immersed), burial (going down into the water), and resurrection (coming up out of the water to the newness of life). This identification with Christ is a public testimony of what a person believes.

What if I Want to be Baptized?

If you have put your faith in Christ for your eternal salvation and want to be baptized, you would simply need to contact our church office. We will then have a pastor contact you and make arrangements to meet with you to hear about your faith and schedule a time to be baptized in one of our weekend services.
